From its onset, the Unity FC and Surrey United SC alliance aimed to provide meaningful opportunities and create a seamless transition for youth players from Surrey United, other clubs across Surrey, and the Fraser Valley into the competitive environment of semi-professional soccer with Unity FC.

“The partnership with Unity FC was designed to strengthen and improve our club’s development pathway and this is clear evidence of that happening”, said Jeff Clarke, SUSC Sporting Director. “This cooperative approach to our men’s premier team is another example of SUSC improving it’s operation and increasing opportunities for its members”

Leading the launch of the Surrey United x Unity Men will be Ronan Kelly, an ambitious and dedicated UEFA A Licensed Coach with over a decade of experience in Canada, Australia, and the UK. Ronan's extensive background in youth development, recruitment, and talent identification, combined with his role at Surrey United SC, makes him an invaluable addition to the team. His current responsibilities at Surrey United include coaching, coach education, video analysis, planning, and administration.

Ronan will work alongside Surrey United SC and Unity FC Technical Director Troye Flannery, as well as Unity FC’s Director of Men's Football and Head Coach Mike Shearon to build a roster that promotes players from the SUSC pathway and surrounding clubs into Unity FC's League1 BC system.

The roster of the premier team will be made up of full-time senior players and supported regularly by SUSC youth members. This collaboration will also aim to advance all players to higher level programming including providing opportunities within the local professional clubs, such as Whitecaps FC (MLS) and Vancouver FC (CPL), and overseas opportunities.

The Surrey United x Unity Men are set to provide aspiring young talent with a structured and supportive environment to develop their skills and pursue their soccer ambitions. This initiative is a testament to the commitment of both clubs to fostering a strong, vibrant soccer community and providing every opportunity for young athletes to succeed.

This initiative will utilize Surrey United's existing franchise, enhancing the elite player pathway. The selection process for Surrey United x Unity Men roster has already commenced and will continue during the July Combine, and again at a to be determined August Combine.
