Apply For Unity SelectsThe Pathway has changed.
Being one of the better players here may no longer be enough.
BC has a proud history of producing players for Canada's biggest stages.
But today's player is competing in a different environment. The next opportunity isn't only being contested by players across town. It's being contested by players across Canada and around the world.
Men's National Team
3 of 26 players on Canada's 2026 Men's FIFA World Cup squad who grew up in B.C.
Youth National Teams
5 of 42 players on Canada's 2025 FIFA u17 Men's and Women's World Cup squads were from B.C.
UBC Women's Soccer
16 of 28 players on UBC Women's Soccer current 2026-27 roster are from outside B.C.
Opportunity hasn't disappeared. Competition has changed.
So We Are Doing Something Different. Introducing UNITY SELECTS
Your club provides the team environment, league competition and community that are essential to a player's development. We don't want to replace it.
Unity Selects adds a selected environment designed to help ambitious players:
DEVELOP.
Add another high-quality development environment focused on the player.
COMPETE.
Experience purposeful competition outside their normal team environment.
BENCHMARK.
Gain different reference points and better understand where they stand.
CONNECT.
Create opportunities and connections to help players find what's next.
Different players. Different ambitions. Different pathways.
Three Age Ranges. Three Questions.
U13 | Discover
What's possible?
Connect earlier.
Build strong foundations.
Introduce different challenges and experiences.
Begin understanding the player, their potential and what they may need next.
At U13, players don't need to have their pathway figured out.
We want to help them discover how good they could become.
U15 | Benchmark
Where do I stand?
This is an important development window.
Training becomes increasingly individualized. Players experience different coaches, competition, standards and reference points beyond their normal environment.
And we begin asking more serious questions.
What needs to improve?
What does the next level require?
Could a provincial or professional academy environment make sense?
What post-secondary opportunities could this player be tracking toward?
Could an international training environment provide a valuable benchmark?
Don't wait until U17 to start asking U15 questions.
U17 | Prepare
What's next?
By U17, possibilities begin turning into decisions.
For one player, the next step may be U SPORTS or NCAA.
For another, senior or semi-professional football.
For another, a professional academy or international environment.
And for a small number, it may be time to seriously consider whether to give professional football a legitimate opportunity before choosing university or college.
There isn't one correct pathway.
By U17, we're not beginning the conversation.
We're preparing to act on it.
Finding What's Next.
There isn't one definition of success.
Provincial Team · Professional Academy · U SPORTS · NCAA · Senior Football · Semi-Pro · Professional · International
At U13, a player may not know where their journey is headed.
That's okay.
Our job isn't to determine a young player's ceiling.
It's to create an environment where ambitious players can develop, compete, benchmark and connect as their journey becomes clearer.
Helping the next era of players find what's next.
Beyond B.C.
Local success needs external context.
Unity's relationships with coaches and football environments across Canada and outside Canada allow appropriate players to experience different standards and perspectives.
Selected players may be considered for European training and identification opportunities during:
DECEMBER 2026 · MARCH 2027 · SUMMER 2027
These opportunities are individually selected and are not guaranteed by Selects membership.
Travel, accommodation and other costs outside the Lower Mainland are additional.
The goal isn't to send every player to Europe. It's to identify who may benefit from it early enough for it to matter.
Selected. Not Registered.
Unity Selects is selection-based.
Players may be identified through:
Open Application · Identification Sessions · Unity Performance · Combines · Scouting · Direct Invitation
We're not simply looking for the best player today.
We consider:
- Technical ability
- Game intelligence
- Athletic development
- Competitive character
- Coachability
- Trajectory
But ultimately we're asking:
Can Unity meaningfully help this player develop and prepare for what's next?

An environment that takes ambition seriously.
One that challenges players beyond their normal surroundings.
One where coaches get to know the player over time.
One that creates different competition and different reference points.
One that connects players with opportunities appropriate to their development.
And one that asks the important questions early enough to do something about the answers.
We don't know where every player's journey will lead.
That's part of the point.
Our goal is to help the next era of ambitious players find theirs.
