SURREY, BC – League1 BC has released the much anticipated 2024 regular season schedule, featuring Unity FC’s men’s and women’s 12-match campaign. Unity FC kicks off the season with an away game against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Sunday, April 28. Early season excitement peaks in Week 3 as Unity FC hosts TSS Rovers on Saturday, May 11 marking the club’s inaugural home opener at Cloverdale Athletic Park.

HOME OPENER
Unity FC’s highly anticipated home opener at Cloverdale Athletic Park #2 is set for Saturday, May 11 against TSS Rovers. Unity FC women will get the afternoon started at 1pm; followed by the men’s match at approximately 3:30pm. Gates open at 12pm, promising a fun-filled afternoon with interactive zones, live music, a beer garden and food trucks.

FANS FIRST
As a Fans First club, Unity FC is committed to delivering the best sporting experience for fans of all ages. The home schedule includes five weekend match days, including our Home Opener on May 11 and three Sunday afternoon match days (May 26, June 9, June 23), along with two Wednesday evening home matches (June 19, June 26).
LEAGUE1 BC SCHEDULE BREAKDOWN
Each League1 BC men’s and women’s team will play 12 regular season matches – 6 at home and 6 away. Unity FC will face each of its fellow League1 BC opponents twice (1 home, 1 away). All League1 BC match days will feature a women’s and men’s double-header.
The Top Four teams in each respective division will qualify for the 2024 L1BC playoffs. Semifinal Weekend is set for July 26-28, while the L1BC Championship FInals is set for August 4 at Swangard Stadium.
REGULAR SEASON RESULTS MATTERS
Women’s Division: The team that finishes atop the L1BC Women’s Division table at the end of the regular season is recognized as League Champions for 2024 and will be the L1BC Representative in the 2024 League1 Canada Inter-Provincial Championship.
Men’s Division: The team that finished atop the L1BC Men’s Division standings at the end of the regular season is recognized as League Champions for 2024 and will be the L1BC Representative in the 2025 Canadian Championship.
SEASON OPENER
Unity FC will open its 2024 regular season on the road against League1 BC reigning champions Whitecaps FC on Sunday, April 28.
The women’s match kicking off at noon features a rematch of last year’s League1 BC Women’s Championship Final. A back-and-forth match which ended with WFC Girls Elite hoisting the hardware.
Then later in the afternoon, the Unity men will face the reigning League1 BC Playoff Champions, WFC Boys Academy.
CAP WILL BE JUMPIN’ IN JUNE
Unity FC is set to host four consecutive match days between June 9 and June 26. During that homestand Unity FC will welcome – Harbourside (Sun. June 9), Burnaby FC (Wed. June 19), Altitude (Sun. June 23) and Vancouver Whitecaps FC (Wed. June 26).
SUMMER NIGHT VS WHITECAPS
Unity FC will host two midweek night matches at Cloverdale Athletic Park this season. The second of which is against Whitecaps FC on Wednesday, June 26 (Women: 6pm; Men: 8:15pm).
This fixture comes nearly two months after these two clubs lifted the curtain on the 2024 regular season on April 28. Given the competitiveness of last year's matches between these two foes, this midweek battle could be an early tone setter for League1 BC playoffs at the end of July.
NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK
Unity FC will face 2024 expansion side Burnaby FC twice during the regular season. The first-ever meeting between the two sides will happen in the second week of the regular season at Burnaby Lakes West #5.
Burnaby FC will make the return trip to Cloverdale Athletic Park on Wednesday, June 19 (Women: 6pm; Men: 8:15pm).
These fixtures provide an immediate added layer of fan intrigue and excitement as both clubs are powered by strong BCSPL alliances in Surrey United vs Burnaby FC.
ON THE ROAD TO FINISH
Unity FC will finish off the 2024 regular season with two road matches in July.
First, a trip up the Coquihalla to play Rivers FC in Kamloops on Saturday, July 6.
Unity FC will then close out the 2024 regular season two weeks later in Nanaimo as the board the ferry for their lone visit to the Island in 2024 to face Harbourside FC on Sunday, July 21.
